I was just thinking that I can't recall when I used my boat last. It must be well over a month now, So next trip to the river It's getting wet. Anyone else had the same thought?

Yeah me!!!!

It's been three weeks since my boat has hit water and we are at the prime of boating season. :( Even before that I only managed 6 hours on her  Looks like I will be lucky to put 10-15 hours on her this year. :x

It's been 2 days and had to have been over 6 hours just this past weekend.

On a sad note, it's put away for about 2 weeks as we have other vacation plans.

Had my new to me boat for about 2.5 months now.....we have made 5 trips to the lake with one being a 1 week gig.....i have put a little over 30 hours on her so far and have one more trip planned in the next couple weeks....we are out of the norm though since we usually will be on the water by 10 or 11 a.m. and not come back in til close to 7ish.

I'm going out this weekend..be the first time in 3 weeks. Family vacation and being oncall every other weekend has limited me lately. I probably average 30-40 hours a summer on the boat.

That is perfectly normal.

Robbo,

Not really around here....at the lake we hit most of the time you will see the morning crowd heading back in by 2ish or so - then there is another wave of folks that start heading out.....it's almost like the changing of the guard. It may be that most live closer than I and heading out for a couple hours is common. For us - driving the 2 hours means its going to be a full use of the time kindof deal.

However, this lake is not real big and you don't see many larger boats...a few cuddy's but mostly fishing rigs or BR's.

I agree with you, I only live 15 minutes from the lake, but once I launch I'm staying there as long as the weather cooperates. With short summers, time on the water is limited.

We will typically leave the house at 8 or 9 on weekends in order to get some watersports in on the calmer water, then tube until about lunch time when we anchor for a good part of the afternoon and pack it in around dinner time.

There is quite a bit of turnover around the middle of the day, but most have sat in line for between 1-2 hours to launch. I prefer to get up early rather than wait in line, it's not a pleasant experience. Once 50 boats have launched, you need to wait for one to come off to put in.

This will be our third weekend of no boating (in-laws' 50th wedding anniversery trumped boating--can you believe that?). I can't wait to get back out on the water. Definitely planning to go next weekend and Labor Day as well. Might get 2 more trips in September before we have to shut it down for the year. Summer goes too fast.

You know, with our other boats (the 17' Glastron, 19' Chris Craft, 245 Sundowner), we were out all the time, even if it was just to pop in at the local lake for dinner after work. Yes, the Vista is a bit more work to just pop in for the evening .... but not THAT much.

We are just much more busy with other stuff.... and my wife doesn't seem as eager to hit the water at any moment.

Was out on the boat the last two weekends, and every day between (vacation). Even watched some of the Perseid Meteor showers from the boat. Going out again this weekend, then again for the long weekend. But the scary thought for me is the end of the boating season is not too far away!
