The bayliner 185 was not a bad boat for the price. It never let me down on the water. When i took it in to trade it they found water in the gauges, a leaking water pump, and the axel was misaligned on the trailer. I had not even had this boat a year and was amazed that it has that mucj wrong already. The first thing that I noticed when I brought home my new boat was how much better the quality was. From the interior to the tailer everything was better quality. The baot is also a lot quiter on the water...you do not hear much engine noise...which is suprising because it is a v-8 instead of a six. Gas mileage is not that bad until you put the hammer down....then you will notice a difference in the gas mileage. The boat is also much easier to load on the trailer...because of the trailer design. My bayliner was a 2005, what really promted my desicion to trade was how much my bayliner depreciated in the first year...almost 40%. I am not knocking bayliner...they make a good entry level boat..and I have been told that there older baots weere better quality. This is my second four winns and I will not buying anything other then four winns from now on. I hope this helps

Thank you very much Ted.
I appreciate you taking time for a comparison.
I consider myself a guest on this site – being a Non-FWs owner.

Any knocks/faults/discrepancies towards other boats is no offense to me.
Frankly, I was looking for a harsher comparison :o

One thing I really appreciated was how much quieter your boat is.
I won’t berate my current boat – but one annoying thing is how loud it is while we are on plane – above 2.5k rpms to be more acurate.

I have side-stepped your thread enough. Sorry for that – thanks again for your comments.

I did a little research on your boat & that is a nice ride you have :D
