Hey gents
Well after much research on the web I have convinced myself that a 4.3 will never sound like a 5.7

(I can just hear your replies... I told u so dude...) but I thought since the 4.3 is based on the 5.7 minus 2 cylendars, both develop the same HP per piston and some parts are interchangable. Now that doesn't make it sound like a V8 obviously. Found this on another forum: "The reason your v6 doesnt sound like a v8 is because when a v8 engine is running, two cyllidars on the same side are pumping exhaust gasses into the header. On a v6, only one cyllindar is pumping exhaust through the header." not sure but could be the reason. On another forum they mention that the V6 has an even fireing order and V8 are odd fiering, again not sure how this would affect sound. I read on another forum that the 4.3 sounds like an airplane on full throttle. Doesn't really matter why, it just doesn't sound like a V8... sad but true.
Proof is in the puddin:
The idle on the 4.3 is very nice but then sounds like crap when reved up:

Thanks
