Would anyone know what would cause a high pitch squeal in the engine at high speed rpm's? this happens betweem 3900 and 4400rpms only. This is a new boat, http://s915.photobucket.com/albums/ac357/darcy4670ca/, fourwinns 180 with a 3L. I did change the prop to a 5 blade high five. Could this be slipping of the prop? I dont know if you actual just feel the your prop slipping or not. Top speed is 32 to 34, should hit 40 but the noise is to loud and worreid Im going to blow the engine up. Otherwise the boat dose not miss a beat. Plains fast and the engine is quiet. Thankyou in advance. |

Belt(s) might not be slipping, but a misaligned pulley can make a belt squeal. Might be a job for your dealer to look into since it's new. |

okay, I brought the boat in for winterizing and told the service tech about the problem. He called me back and said there is water in the oil. He asked me if I sunk it? I never mistreated this boat, never sunk it. He said to claim it on warranty we have to find out how the water got in the oil. How could I get water inside the engine? This is a 2011 boat with only 50hours on it. I just had the boat in the water for a week, mostly trolling, I guess with water in the oil, how much damage do you think could happen to the engine? |

I would agree, sound to belt related. |

This story smells to me. A new boat shouldn't have water in the oil and if it did, I don't know why it would make the engine squeal. If the guy knows there's 50 hours on it, the interior still looks like a clean new boat, and he asks if you sunk it, he sounds like an idiot to me. What does the oil look like when you pull the dipstick yourself? Are there any other shops around that could give you a 2nd opinion? |

the oil is milky, so yes there is water in it. I just dont understand how. They are checking compression and other reasons and will let me know. The big question is if I can get the repair covered under warranty and how did water get in the oil. How can water get into the engine oil under normal use? The engine would need to be submerged I would think or there is a seal gone somewhere. Never thought I would have this issue. |

What does he mean by "we" have to find out how water got in the oil? It looks like he might be trying to use bullying tactics. Tell him its "his" problem not yours, distance yourself from the problem and tell him to contact you when it's fixed. Be firm. |

Think I would be looking for a different dealer for service. Time to make some calls & get things resolved. |
