Getting ready to pull the trigger and purchase a 2005 Horizon with the 8.1 GI, Its a bank repo with 76 hr on meter and computer (78). It is in very good shape but is missing the radio any suggestions for what to do? Do you even need to go CD or just Ipod and what about XM, I have it in my truck can you get a radion with it built in? Also has anyone added a wakeboard tower? would like to go factory but was quoted $3,500 installed and other options? Or should I just wait a year and spend the money? Thanks, David |

Welcome! Sounds like a nice boat...I would plan on a complete service/fluid change since if the guy couldn't afford the payments he probably couldn't afford proper service. The radio can be replaced with anything your heart desires! You need Flying Sushi to see this and respond. He has a newer version of your boat and he installed a factory arch last winter. I am sure he did all kinds of research and can give you some of the particulars. Ebay currently has a slew of arches if you search "Four Winns". You'll have to get some dimensions from your boat but something may work for you. |

Marc- Thanks, just recieved more pics boat looks great, it's a California boat and i'm in Kansas so having a dealer there do the inspection and if it checks out I'll have it winterized and then serviced next March. This site is great place for information!! Getting back into boatingh after a 5 year layoff (we have a three year old) and wanted a trailable boat and it came down to this and a 2007 Regal 240 also with a 8.1 GI. Choose the Four Winns. I'll let everyone know how this deal turns out before posting the Brookers info he has 4-6 Four Winns available H200 - H210. |

Welcome, As Milhaven said Flying sushi will have more info. But $3500 sounds right in line or even a good deal for a factory tower installed. |

Based in Wichita, will use it at El Dorado (20 minutes from house) and Wilson, then plan on making several trip to Grand Lake in Oklahoma which is about 3 1/2 hrs. Is there another lake I should look at in KS? |

Welcome aboard: If it is a bank repo I would strongly suggest to either surveyor of dealer to go though the boat since it is likely neglected one way or the other.. Low hours indicate that much of sitting around without proper service. However, 2005 is not that old so they should be ok… You would be very happy with late model 260/250 with 8.1….. The boat is very stable, lots of room, small enough to use for active sports such as skiing and wakeboarding…. Nothing beats a beautiful styling of large Horizon in our mind…. Missing radio should not be a big deal that you can get a Clarion head unit very easily and cheap.. (or you have an opportunity to upgrade…) As far as tower goes a factory Wakeboard Aluminum tower, which is made by XTP is around $3500….. A factory Stainless Steel forward lean Arch would cost around $6300…. There are many decent aftermarket towers such as Samson so I would recommend to shop around…. In my opinion It is tough to beat factory units....Tt will goes the best with the boat.... only issue is very pricy. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3893& viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3499 |
