I am new to boating and I got this boat included when I bought our new house. The boat is in great condition and runs very smoothly. There is an issue with he dash where the gas and some of the other gauges are intermittent. When they are not working, the console beeps every second and it is very annoying. Has anybody seen this or heard of this issue?

I may not be of great help to answer but on my 89 200 horizon model I noticed that it made a very loud almost ear defning high pitch noise much like a beep. I looked @ the console right away only thing I could out of range was gas meter was reading quarter of tank. ( I'm still not sure if it was a warning indicator of gas is low switch tanks since this model has two different tanks ) I called the previous owner he was not sure of it. but my noise was coming from the console area for sure.

Thanks for the reply. Our beep is also a very loud piercing beep that comes from the console. What I have learned is that the beep is supposed to be an alert when any of the gauges fall out of normal. I wonder if your sound happened because you were getting close to the the limit where the alert was supposed to go off for low fuel.

I'm a new boater as well and actually do not know the what is considered normal ranges quite yet. Only reading i console was perhaps I'm getting low I had quarter tank left. I did tad more research on this I did check to see if the motor was leaking water from it's pee hole. I have a mercury 150 outboard on 20 ft 89 Horizon.

I am pretty sure your boat has the older style, VDO Gauge Cluster. They are well known to have various issues. Search the forum a bit, you will find it.

I took the boat out on Sunday after a battery replacement and filling with gas. I did monitor the gauges on this run the temp gauge was 120 when running low speed but as soon as I hit full speed it jumped to 160 in a blink of an eye. Prior to leaving I made sure the pee hole was allowing water to run through it. around the same time I heard the same noise again but I got a good feeling its the maybe the water pump causing the alert perhaps. or stuck thermostat ?
