I have a H210 with the front fold out ladder/anchor locker. My question is where do most of you that own a H210 put your anchor? Do you actually use the anchor locker? The only reason I ask is that if I did, the 30 pound anchor would literally be resting on the hull!! I can imagine some possible damage from the anchor being tossed around a bit while under way. Under the cover of the anchor locker there are two black clip looking things on each side of the locker, they give off the impression that they should be used some how to hold the anchor off the hull and somewhat suspend the anchor???? Here is the anchor that I was given from the dealer. Any advice here is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My H200 came with a regular danforth type anchor that fit it little grooves in the locker. I am not sure about what you have there but mine was nothing like that.

+1, I'd ask your dealer to swap anchors for something that fits as Four Winns intended.

Thanks a ton for the information, I knew something wasn't right with my set up here. I'll call the folks at Spicers, hopefully they will change it out for me since I have not used it yet.

Late to the party, but +1 to the other guys above. The Danforth-style will fit in there perfectly and you'll be very happy with the setup. Make sure you get enough length of chain with it. I'd say at least 3 feet unless you boat in really windy conditions.

I actually carry two anchors with me: The standard danforth, with lots of chain, snapped into the provided bracket and a second anchor just like the one your's came with. It works great if you want to keep the stern from swinging around or use as a second anchor in strong wind at the bow in a V pattern. I have the rubber coated second anchor just sitting way low in my anchor well and never considered it would cause any damange. Given the weight of the anchor itself and the chain from the danforth piled on top of it, I guess I assumed it wouldn't be able to bounce around much, if at all.

Should I reconsider the placement of my spare anchor??

If they give you the galvanized danforth, I would use it as your # 2 and stow it. I got my boat used and it didn't come with an anchor...i picked up a rubber coated danforth that fits perfectly in the anchor locker and hangs on those clips you mentioned.

I also cut some sections of rubber matting (kind with holes in it for draining - from home depot) and lined the anchor locker. This keeps the bar of the anchor and chain off the hull. On top of the rubber matting with holes i put a section of thin rubber (actually cut up a new innertube i had no use for)....basically, it keeps down on the cleaning since when i use and replace the anchor/any debris goes is held by the rubber matting (cut innertube). I always pull the anchor rode to wash down and dry after a trip anyway so it's nothing to pull the mat and clean it at the same time.

I also use the rubber padding in all floor storage and under the seats. works great, allows for drainage, no rattles from things bouncing or sliding and cheap.
