So after researching and not wanting to spend 4500 on a four winns wakeboard tower I'm looking for a good way to store the wakeboard using a rack that attaches to the boat. I have seen limited racks that attach to the boat, and no pics.

Is this silly or has anyone done this? Does anyone have pics?

Thanks in advance!

I've seen them mounted on hand-rails. Thought it looked OK... would not like to see it for docking though. You are still looking at about $300 just for a set of wakeboard mounts w/ hardware. I am sure if you shop around, you could find a nice looking tower and wakeboard mount for about $1500 or less. Check DIY Wake.

Have you checked here yet? They might have a tower for you.

I have seen one mounted on a multi purpose mount on the gunwale on line somewhere....was a good idea that allowed them to remove it quickly for docking. The one i saw was also used for a mount base for an overboard hanging BBQ. Only concern i recall having was that those racks are heavy and the wind force with the boards on them is a lot.

If you want a tower that is the way to go...you can find after-market towers pretty reasonable and they're quality racks that are installed on new wakeboard boats. I have a reverse arch cuz that's what came on my used boat......i would never pay what the prior owner did for it though.

I boated with no tower for years - i have wakeboard carry cases and would stand them side by side in the bow on the floor - kids had to climb over them, but i was fine at the helm. If you don't want a tower - mail me your rack!!!

I thought about buying these for 80 bucks and figuring out a way to attach them to the front rail: http://www.diywake.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=563

Since the front rail was significantly smaller than the mounts, I was going to wrap the area they would connect to in a thick, non-slip piece of rubber. After much thought, I ended up dropping roughly $1100 to add a tower, speakers, & a board rack from the same web site. I recommend this site and the quality of the products.

Here is my setup (minus the racks that should be delivered this week).

Not sure what boat you have, but this is what I used on mine. I have been very happy with it. I bought the rack off ebay for around 100 dollars? Maybe more or less, but around that. It has worked very well.

This was the first link I checked out. I didnt do this kind of setup, but if I had the time (and balls) I would have done it this way.

Great link, thank you!

I'm glad others have done this and I'm not nuts. Gonna start looking on eBay!

I saw them and do like but am worried about a couple things, like if I can keep the Bimini top? Also they don't come with the mounting hardware amd don't say you can get thm from four winns?

Lastly I have seen no one on here with one. . . . I didn't find anyone who has?

Does anyone know what the measurements are for the FW factory wake tower for a 2008 Horizon 200? Also, how do these guys (greatlakesskipper.com) get new FW towers? I thought you can only get them from a dealer?
