I'll just randomly post pics in here and whatever else. Here's a pic from it's maiden voyage. Runs great! ![]() |

Noticed some power steering fluid in the bilge today and a random whine when I turn..... ahh, the gremlins of a boat that's sat for a long time. Hopefully it's something stupid and if it's not I'll just pull the belt and worry about it later. Still runs good otherwise! pulled up to the "Redneck Riviera" on my lake. There's a spring randomly out in the shore of the lake and it makes a cool little beach that has a very sharp drop off that's only accessible to boats. Perfect for BBQ and good times. ![]() |

ric, The P.S leak is probably just a loose clamp. Check the clamps at the cooler. |

Ric, Congrats on the most excellent deal and a great boat. I am over on the East coast, Titusville. You should checkout launching in the Indian River and motoring up through haulover canal. You get to see dolphins and manatees. Enjoy the boat. Rob |

Last evening after a quick spin after a long day at work. It's supposed to rain (now the fortcast is changing as I just checked) but I wanted it to rain on it without covers... and then finish the deck cleaning with a brush and soap. Hmm... plan fail? Power Steering issue was just those stupid OEM plastic clamps on the power steering line and the hose a tad dry rotted at the end. Cut the hose back and used a real worm clamp. ![]() |

ric - do you still have the sounds when turning after you fixed the power steering? If yes, that could be the gimbal bearing. At some point you should pull the stern drive and check the bellows and gimbal. Also, on mine, there is a zerk fitting on the starboard side of the stern drive. Very hard to get to with your grease gun, but definitely something you want to grease. I swapped mine with an angled zerk fitting to make it easier to access. Boat looks great! |

Yeah sound gone, it was just the pump going low in fluid (and the bilge getting full LOL). I'll do a full service on the thing in a week or 2. Right now I just cruise around the lake no more then 3500rpms just to be safe. Ordered a $10 speedo pickup thingie. Once that's fixed all that's in need of repair is just the tilt sensor and anchor light isn't working. The connections seem bad. |
