Post subject:  Shaft cable help pic included

So I was out on the boat Friday night and Saturday and noticed that ever since I had the FW dealer replace my trim pump the one on the gimble housing, my boat has been taking on water, not a ton but enough while at anchor the bilge pump will come on about every one and a half hours and pump may a quart out so I started looking around, I thought it was the thru hull depth sounder (who's geniuos Idea was it to punch a hole in the bottom of a brand new boat) but its sealed up tight, so I found this while looking over the transome, this is the shift cable that runs thru the transome shield, the sealoc manual says the is supposed to be a shift cable sleeve with and oring, can someone with a 200/ss Horizon see what they have and send me a picture so I can go have the dealer fix this issue, here is picture. It's an SX-M drive I can also email a better picture.

Thank you,

Mike

I can't see a picture, only a red x. Maybe that's why no one else has chimed in.

Yep, no pic so hard to really understand the problem. My shift cable comes up through what looks like a length of heater hose. The top end is pretty much open - looks like the bottom end simply screws in with an o-ring to seal it - part no. 39 and 40 on the following schematic.

My guess if its leaking there, remove the shift cable, unscrew the hose, replace o-ring and screw it back in with some sealer on the thread and reinstall the shift cable.

Hope this helps...

Isn't the drive/ transom shield assembly on your 2007 boat a SXA, rather than the SX ? You mentioned the trim pump being changed, on the SXA it is on the outer transom shield. The speedo cable goes through the same type of tube on the SXA as on the SX. the same part numbers for both the SX and SXA, parts 25 and 26 ;

There is also another hose ( part no 29) that goes into the transom shield that could presumable also let in water( I do not know it's purpose; to fluid reservoir perhaps? ). Also the wiring harness for the trim pump passes through the transom shield with a seal of some sort.
