So the fun has began, had the new boat for a few weeks now and have been out about 10 times and I'm finding little things the previous owner just didn't fix and worked around. Grrrr!
Bimini Top Supports has a broken screw in it that I found the hard way when I went to tighten the screw and it could only screw in 1.5 times and fell out because it was stripped. Now it has a broken Easy Out in it too, (so I ordered a new bracket and got grade 8 bolts to help prevent another broken screw). Sushi great post on permanent fix with the rod end bearings (I'll buy some off you!!!$$$). I think that's going to be a winter project!

The shift cable is my next concern, I need to order a new shift cable but from the spare parts pages on line it's hard to tell but it looks like I need the 20Ft TFxtreme Cable. I just want to make sure it's the correct size before I buy it. Does any body else know for this size boat?

Moving the batteries is next, this thing list's really bad! Thank god for trim tabs!

P.S. My girl friend thinks I'm crazy for being on this site so much but everybody is extremely helpful on here and I have learned a lot!!

Thanks for your help!

When you do your batteries, keep a good photo journal of it. I want to move mine too!

No problem, will do. I can't believe there isn't one on here already. It sounds like a lot of people had to do it too.

Just moved my batteries and replaced my shift cable. What a difference on both counts. Been out two weekends so far this season and the boat rides so much better.

P.S. Totally agree about this site. Extremely valuable.

I've been on here for a while and at first it was really quiet, but over the last 2 years it got much better with a lot of people contributing.
If you are into moving batteries, I'd also upgrade the cables, and use the largest gauge ones you can (upgrade from 4 gauge if that's what they used to 2 gauge, depending on how long the run is). When I put in my dual batt system, I did not want a list, so I put the second batt on the opposite side of the engine compartment. This worked well for weight balance, but the wire run from the positive batt post to the switch was like 9 feet, so I upsized the cable from 2 gauge to 1/0. I ran separate grounds for each batt to the ground studs on either sides of the engine. I have batt boxes, but I am not crazy about them because they let the batts move around inside. What I did, was make shims out of wood, now the batts do not move. But if I was doing this now, I'd use good batt hold-downs instead, and use the terminal rubber covers (have em anyway even with the boxes, incase I ever drop a wrench working on something)....
