Took the Boat out Sunday. Ran fine mechanically. However, I noticed the tach acting weird. It would read 4500 when not at WOT (maybe running 25-28mph). I would slow it down and the tach would real lower. Then later in the day, it would never read beyond 1500 at the same speed.

Towards the end of the day I heard the engine alarm. At first I am thinking temperature. Oil fine, Temp was fine, but I was running when it went off. So I thought ok, I have a new impeller and new raw water pump, maybe it went bad and I will see the temp rise when I idle. Temp went up a tad maybe 170-180, but normally runs at 170.

What other items set off the alarm beside temperature? Could the tach be related?

I'd check the battery ground wire

I have two batteries running through a Perko switch. Both Batteries have secure connections. Was in work clothes so I could not check the connection of the cables running to engine, but will.
