| Post subject: | In -Floor Storage Locker/ Ski Locker????? |
 Went out to get boat ready for tomorrow and found the storage locker FULL of water from our recent rains! Went about cleaning the rest of interior and noticed that it continued to fill with water!!!!
Is there something special that only allow it to drain while underway???? Tried repaired Bilge pump and got NO response!! 
Any input will be appeciated

 I coat hangered the drain with NO results!!!
 AM I STILL CURSED 
Any other thoughts
I can bail out by hand with a coffee cup!!!!!!!!! |

Is the water in the bilge? Is your battery connected and have enough charge to run the pump? |

Hmmm, is the water also in the engine compartment where the bilge pump IS located? If it is, then either the bilge pump automatic float isn't working or the battery isn't connected or doesnt' have a charge. (Did you try using the switch on the dash for the bilge pump? If it comes on, then the fuse and battery are ok, but the automatic float is "bad") If the water isn't back in the engine compartment, then you'll have to keep drying to unplug the drains with the coat hanger. (and make sure the boat has enough tilt for the water to flow to the engine compartment). |

NO water in bilge or motor compartment. Plenty of power from battery. Bilge, blowers, trim all work fine. I think I will try compressed air to clear drain. |

can you actually stick a coat hanger or fish tape all the way through and see it in the engine compartment? |

It *does* seem to be a recurring problem that many of the newer horizons have blocked passages along the bottom of the hull. Usually it's debris from the manufacturing process. You might have to be a little aggressive and/or persistent to get that stuff out of there. An electrician's fish tape might also help (longer & stiffer). |

I will pick up fish tape today.
We had a great day on the lake today with NO problems.
3 hours of cruising and learning about lake with chart and compass. Pulled boat out of water and absolutely only a few drops of water came out when we removed the hull plug! |

Not to jack this thread, but do all areas lead into the ski locker for drainage and then to the engine to either be drained through the pump or out the drain plug hole? |

The locker is one huge topless tub with one drain hole. |

I think he's asking "where does it drain to?", though. I, for one, do not know the answer to that. Our sales guy led us to believe that anything draining into the cockpit would drain overboard rather than into the bilge, but I've got a feeling that only applies to the rear drain at the base of the engine cover. Anybody clear this one up for us? |

Anybody clear this one up for us? EVERYTHING (but the glove box cooler) drains into the bilge, thats what the bilge is for, water removal. If you stand in the bow and pour a gallon of water in the floor it will drain into the ski locker then to the bilge. If you open the bow storage and pour a gallon of water in it, it by-passes the locker and runs on the inside of the hull to the bilge. We could have a cool science project if you guys have some food coloring and a tea jug.

OOOOOO! I love food coloring! I'm just going by what my sales guy told me, which was "Everything drains overboard." Since I'm still awaiting delivery, that will give me plenty of time to buy some extra food coloring in preparation for this experiment. |
