Took my new H210 out for the first time yesterday, great boat. I swiveled the port seat 180 degrees to watch the kids tube and now cannot turn it back around. The release lever raises up, but the trim on the side is in the way. Anyone know of another "release" up under the seat that I can manually pull ? Or perhaps a way to take the seat off and start again. Any help is appreciated.

About the seats....I had the exact same problem with my seats, however in my infinite wisdom when I tried to pull the lever up instead of easing off like a normal person would, I continued to pull and it seems the cable came lose.

Now I am unable to turn the seat at all - tried to reattach the cable it looks like I have to take the seat apart. I feel it's not a do it yourself job but I am willing to try...any suggestions?

You can remove the seat pretty easily. Look under there and you will see a black plastic tab, shaped like a triangle and has a screw through it. It is spring loaded. You pull it straight down and swivel it and this will allow the seat to be lifted off the base. From there, you should be able to fix/adjust as needed.

We dealt with this all the time, even tore the trim on each side. Finally came up with a solution while sitting on the boat getting "smarter". I switched the seats. Now those levers can be used freely since they are on the opposite side of the trim. Not sure why FW didn't do it this way in the first place. I'm hoping to get new trim pieces under warranty.

One other hint....make sure the seats are in the fully forward position before you swivel. They will spin much easier.

Where are you located, that you would be doing Dragon Boat races?

We are in Knoxville Tennessee, the Dragon Boat Racing folks come by once a year for a charity event. We actually won our division (through beginners luck) and made it out on the boat. Seats are fixed. Thanks again to everyone.

As stated above, the seats are easy to remove, and switch. You need only a "shorty" phillips screw driver. Just make sure when you remove the black plastic piece, to be careful and not remove the screw completely, as it will come out of the spring retaining it. I found also by "tightening" the screw on the spring it was a little easier to get started. The swap took all of 15 min, and I can't believe I didn't think to do it sooner. It would have been a little quicker/easier with someone helping to line-up the seat with the pedistal as I was re-installing. FYI... the instructions for these can be found in the pedistal

Okay tried to fix the seat...no luck

Took the seat off and was able to insert the cable with the ball at the end into the back tab - keyhole shaped - however the cable will not stay - do you have to remove the black tab? It looks like to swings up, but I didn't want to force it as I feel it will snap off.

Also - I have a couple of pictures to explain the above, but can't figure out how to upload them on this reply - I click Img at the top and all I get is this[img] [img]

Any help would be great

Interesting thread, so I want to bump it back up. First, on the photo upload. You cannot upload photos from your home computer; you first have to upload them to a website (I use "PhotoBucket"). There is a separate thread with photo uploading instructions if you use the search feature on theupper right portion of this forum. I am a complete novice at it, but have figured it out to the minimum extent needed to post a photo here and there.

I am interested in learning exactly how to swap the seats as our entire family is always fumbling with levers trying to figure out (by feel) which one slides the seat fore and aft and which one swivels the seat. Doesn't help to re-learn every weekend that the front lever does this and the aft lever does that. I think that muscle memory would be easier if my brain knew that the left hand was for one and the right hand was for the other. If this is truly as easy as many have indicated, this will be the first thing I accomplish the next time I am in the boat.

Picture instructions might help.

I experienced this problem on my 2008 Funship. I took it back for repair under warranty. They said the cable came loose, and fixed it. Next trip out, it came apart again. Back to the dealer it went. I told them I found something online saying it was a common problem. SO they contacted FW. Long story short, FW agreed, and they replaced the whole mechanism on both seats due to a manufacturing issue.

Check with your local dealer, and maybe they will cover it as a manufacturing defect.

This is a big problem. My '07 H200 does the same thing. It is easier to swivel when seats are slid to the back position, but these seats are just too big and will rub on the vinyl trim. My passenger seat is tougher to rotate than the drivers side... I've always though that if they can be raised slightly on their posts that it would be easier to rotate, but I have not had time to fool with it. Bad design by FW and we are unfortunately stuck with it...
