Does anybody know if the removeable seat cushion on the walk-thru on the Horizon's qualify as a type IV throwable device? Tennessee requires that I carry one, and I don't know if I need to give more money to West Marine or not. Thanks.

It does not qualify unless it has a tag attached stating it is approved by USCG as a flotation device. Dig deep in your wallet and spend the $13 and buy an aproved throwable.

This reminds me of an in-flight safety demo:

"In the unlikely event of a water evacuation, your seat bottom may be used as a floatation device".

I wonder if the seat bottoms of a plane are Coast Guard approved?

The only bottom to worry about is your own as(s) you kiss it goodbye

These people are good to deal with & there prices are good to fair. They have what you need for $10.

Haha! And the airlines reckon you are going to survive a water landing?? Who do they think they're kidding - the Hudson was a fluke!

Exactly I remember the first time my instructor was instructing me on what to do in case of a water landing. Needless to say while flying at 2000 feet over water it wasn't funny when he told me to stick my head between my legs and kiss my azz goodbye. What a sense of humor that joker had.
