Has anyone tried the F5 props on a 240 Horizon? I have a '98 with 5.7 GSI throttle body injectors. We have F6's on boat currently and are trying to determine if low end bog is possibly due to props being too deep. Once boat gets through initial bog it picks up quickly as you would expect it to. Thanks for any input.

F5's have been standard on the 230 (now the 240 again) since at least '04. Are you sure the F6's are original? A previous owner may have changed them to F6 in the never ending (and ridiculous) chase for 1-2mph more at the top end.

Having said that, I doubt an F6 set would cause the kind of bogging you seem to be describing.

FYI, you might consider putting your engine/drive info in your signature, it'll help with questions like this.

I run F5's here and have great hole shot and very good top end.

F5 sets have been standard on late model H240 with VP5.7DP which has 1.95 gear ratio.
You should check and make sure you have a 1.95 gear ratio and not 1.78 or something else on your drive … Otherwise I would agree with others that F5 is way to go for your boat.

Gear ratio confirmed at 1.95. Proceeding with F5's and looking forward to much improved out of the hole performance. Thanks for everyone's input.
