Too dumb to be working on mechanical stuff. Hot and tired and dead battery, I hooked up a portable charger to the battery to get 1990 4.3 OMC started, pulled boat out of water and charger was left on for a couple of hours until we got the boat home and noticed my stupidity. Battery then took a proper charge and seems to be OK, trim works, but everything else is dead. No blown fuses on fuse panel. Any suggestions what to look for?

My best guess is the helm circuit breaker which is usually a red button in the engine compartment.

Thanks for the tip. Any hints where it might be. 1990 Four Winns Horizon 180. Looked in the obvious places.

Mine is on the left hand side of the engine if I am inside the boat.

some boats have 2 fuse panels, one under cockpit, another in engine compartment, be sure to check both... my old '95 FW never had a helm reset button, I think these are only on newer FW boats...

borrow another battery from a friend and try it... just because it can move your trim doesn't mean it will crank... after you abused the battery in such a way it is definitely now suspect...

can you hear your fuel pump running when you turn the key to run (without starting)?

It's your main circuit breaker, usually located near the engine and battery.

Push the red button...

Then go out and purchase a "smart" charger so that can't happen.
