Anyone put Smart tabs on a H180? I am thinking of putting the SX series on my H180 since the bow really comes up alot before getting on plane and I am hoping to stay on plane at a lower spped and RPM. Can anyone give me their experience with them? |

I will have to do some measuring before buying them. Maybe when they are angled down at rest it might miss the ladder... not sure, but thanks for mentioning it. I can't check now since my H180 is shrinkwrapped and the ladder is folded up under the wrap. Anyone else have Smart Tabs with the fold down ladder? I found this pic online (link below)... looks like the ladder might clear it but would have to measure to verify before I bought them. http://www.boatcrazy.com/images/sale_owner/100_3871.jpg |

ladder might clear, dunno... BUT On my '00 model, the ladder is well... short. You gotta climb up to get on it. Is the newer style ones longer? |

My $0.02... The '92 18' I previously had DID have a bunch of bow-rise.... ![]() This was before stepped-hull, etc. But I found putting a cooler in the bow, and keeping one of the occupants with it (challenging, to say the least) is all it took to keep the bow down. It would keep planed and flat as low as 14 mph; which was great for our early boarding days. I don't know of anyone who has tabs on a 18' range boat, and have heard they aren't really worth the cost until you hit about 25'. |
