I aquire a four winns horizon 180- 2004 w volvo penta 3.0L it runs great for about 15 minutes and then it make a noise in the carburator and dont acelerate but dont turn off,it operate at 1,000 or 1,500 rpm but dont accelerate if you do it it dont acelerate, i change the impeller, ignition module, rotor, cap, coil and put a pressure clock on the fuel line, the pressure will be 6 pounds all time but the gasoline filter dont be full of gas.I repair the carburator and it works great. Thanks in advance for the help. |

Have you checked to make sure the fuel is not tainted with water? Fouled spark plugs maybe. Gap in the spark plugs. Kind of strange the bowl isn't full of gas all the time. |

Its no water in fuel, i think the gas pump have pressure but dont volume of gas. |

Guys, is there any sort of feature to limit revs if it overheats? I doubt it being a carby engine, but almost sounds like it's gone into limp home mode... How is the temperature?? Is it running hot?? |

Welcome to the forum... You say you are getting fuel pressure at the pump? but little/no fuel at the carb? I'm not certain, but I would expect slightly higher pressure than 6 psi even on a carb motor.... anyone else know better?? I would first disconnect the fuel line at the carb and jog the fuel pump (should be elec as everyone went to elec pumps in '92). This ensures the pump is working, and there is no blockage. At full flow you should be able to fill a 1 qt container in about 6 seconds. Next I would check/replace the fuel filter on the fuel supply AND check the line into the carb. Very good chance there is another small filter attached to or internal to the carb. Other things to check, since it runs fine for a few minutes, then acts up..... Fuel cap/vent and the infamous anti-syphon valve. If the above check out, I would say the fuel flow is not the culprit. Give these a try and get back to us. |

i put a new fuel pump, original it no have fuel filter i put one but it dont be full of gas anytime, i verify the checkvalve at the exit of fuel tank and it works great, the fuel pressure will be at 6 psi all time inclusive when the motor fail, the carb. inject all time, it will be a nightmare! Where is located the Fuel cap/vent? is the infamous anti-syphon valve the valve located at the exit of fuel tank to the pump?.(chekvalve)the temperature is ok, the oil pressure too. |

The Fuel cap/Vent is the thingy you unscrew to put gas in the tank. Open that and make sure it's not letting the tank get into a vacuum while operating. Anti-syphon should be on the tank too. Check any vacuum lines going to fuel press regulators (if equipped) too. If the fuel filter isn't getting fuel, then it's not getting to the carb, and so on. Check the fuel lines and filter assy for vacuum/leakage; try running on a portable tank. Check this thread... sounds a lot like your problem. |

i make the test with an external tank and it works great, the filter will be full of gas, the problem is in the tank, now how i correct the problem? |

Well, if it's pumping fuel with the external OK, and not with the normal tank, I would say either you have a blockage, or a air leak. At least with the above test, you know every fitting/hose/gasket between your external tank and the engine is OK. I would disconnect the line(s) going from the "break" you made down to the tank, and check EVERYTHING for a clear passage. Once that is done, reassemble making sure every connection is tight to prevent a vacuum leak while running. you may even try some "pipe dope" on fittings that use hose clamps. If there are hose clamps, they should propably have two at each connections. |
