The speedo in my boat has been a problem almost since new . Replaced the paddle wheel a couple times and it would work a little while then die again . Yes it has the famous VDO gauges so I don't know if its a gauge issue or the paddle wheel is shot again for the 3rd or 4th time. How hard is it to replace the paddle wheel , does it just snap into the current housing or do you end up drilling holes to install the new one ?
All the other gauges work so far though the tilt gauge takes a lot of movement before it registers on the gauge. Kind of stinks without a speedometer.

+1 My paddle wheel is completely broken off. I keep thinking of replacing it, but i'm leaning towards once the entire vdo cluster goes, doing a swap out to individual gauges and grabbing a pitot speedometer. I don't know if it's worth it to keep dumping money into the vdo cluster. Out of curiosity, where are you finding the paddle wheels and how much?

Paddle wheels from the 4 winns dealer. I checked with 4 winns yesterday and they say they still sell replacement dashes for this era " non VDO " standard gauge replacement.Supposed to be plug and play . Havent called the dealer to see what they cost. Probably at least $600. Considering it seeing the rest of the boat is still in great shape . Amazing how much these things have gone up in 13 years , paid like a little over $14000 brand new in 99 , now an equivalent costs between 25-30000 !!! OYYYYY
