Well.. I can honestly say after owning my '07 for several years, I never once used the cigarette lighter adapter until last summer, when it promptly fried my 12V->USB adapter. I tossed the cheap adapter thinking that it was likely defective... However, I just tried another one last weekend and guess what... smoke, crackle, pop...

Turns out, the 12V accessories port on my h200 was wired *backwards* at the factory... easy enough to fix, but geez... someone must have been smoking crack that day at the factory... how do you not put the RED wire with the + sign?

actually, now that I think about it, I did try to plug in a spotlight in once and it didn't work... thought it was broken since it was 10 years old....

Interesting - The Funship has 2 12v accessory plugs at the helm and I think one of mine is probably wired the same way, and one seems to work fine....

I never gave it any thought, but now that I think about it, I plugged in my ipod to one and it blew the fuse on the adapter...

Something else to check.

Thx!

Yup, musta been the same guy who did my '07. After replacing a few fuses in '08, I noticed my air pump ran backwards. Figured it out then.

That guy actually had a problem with colors....they realized his potential and he now is in charge of engine accessibility and maintenance ergonomics, where he is doing one hell of a job.

I was under the impression they had put him in charge of their marketing department...

This guy you speak of, has had all of the above jobs, he is now head of engineering and design at Four Winns.
This was his first boat he had designed.

Maybe even more disturbing, I did not notice a fuse in the panel for the accessories plug... If I drew enough current to smoke several adapters, should I not have blown a fuse somewhere? well, it never did... I wonder if it goes straight to the battery? I will have to check next time we are out...

The adapter I am refering to had an in-line 1A fuse. That's the only issue I had. Otherwise, I have a single 15 (or 20?) A fuse for my 6x 12V outlets, and two of them have 10A inline fuses.

It might be a good idea to do some color blind testing while hiring electricians
