Just added two speakers up front and replaced factory. Anyone install a sub in it? Mine has the bench seat. I'm new to this forum, how do you post pictures?

What speakers did you install? What head unit do you have? I wouldn't install a sub/amplifier unless you have a dual battery setup as the amp can drain a battery within 2hrs of the boat being off leaving you stranded.

Two 3-way 6x9's in the rear facing the frount would sound better then just randomly placing a sub in the boat. The added speakers would fill the sound in better cause just the two 6.5's you really gotta push to get decent volume at cruise.

I have two polk DB651's in my boat with a new kenwood KMR350u and it rocks out but the boat would sound MUCH better with 4 speakers. I plan to add polk MM691's under the rear seats facing forward here soon.

I added four kicker 6" 2way. I also have the factory clarion xmd3. I would have replaced it but I would have to buy all new unit and satellite receiver. Just bought the boat last summer and I'm just starting to change things a bit. The two battery thing is something I didn't really think about, thanks for the heads up. Thanks for your help.

Which ones? Some of the kicker 6.5's have nothing below 50hz which = no bass at all

for pics, go to ImageShack and the site will host your pictures for free and then you link to the site in your post. It's not difficult...only took me 5 or 6 practice attempts. Fairly easy.

Hey thanks for your help. I see that you have an extended platform. You have any close up pics, also where did you buy it at?

Photobucket works too. Basically you are uploading your pictures to an online site and then you link to them from here.

Just a word about adding an amp. My boat came with a factory Clarion APX 480 M. I have a battery cut out which cuts power from the batt at 11.6V (IIRC). I can sit for well over 2 hrs before it cuts out, and still start the engine. The amp was powering 4 components and a sub.
I'm adding another amp and batt, but until that it was fine.
