So my marina tells me it will take an entire day ($600 labor) to install some bennett hydraulic tabs on my 240. Really? |

Don't be mad... But it sounds reasonable to me. 1 mount tabs. 1 hr each each 2 mount pump 1 hour 3 run hyd lines 1 hour 4 run power to pump 1 hour 5 mount switch 1 hour 6 run switch wires 1.5 - 2 hours 7 fill resivoir and bleed .75 8 test and check for leaks .5 9 clean up mess 1 hour There is 10 hours with no warranty built in. And I'm probably low on my numbers. You can always do something quicker in your mind than in reality. |

Since Four Winns did not offer an option of Trim Tab for our old 2006 Horizon 240 so I installed them myself... It took me 5 hours to install with wiring to dash. However, took about a three weeks to research and get right tabs for 240 (newer generation).... Ended up with same size as Option for 260 which is not as large as I wanted but based on limited area available to install tab for our boat we do not have too much choice..... Still worked great and I would recommend for anyone. |

Thanks. I am towing my boat to Gainesville Marina tomorrow to have an extended swim platform installed. They are also going to change oil and impeller and any other recommended services. While she is there I was think about putting on the tabs. THere is a cutout ont he dash for the tabs. Can anyone confirm if the wiring is already in place from the factory? |

Wiring harness of 230/240 is same as 250/260 and even FW did not offer trim tab as an option for 230/240 the harness came with prep for Bennett Trim Tab and pumps... I had no problem with finding the plugs on 2006 Horizon 240 harness so assuming earlier model should be the same... It shows on the wiring schematics... 2003 is a year they call 240 where other years are 230....... manual says 230 as you already know. http://www.fourwinns.com/past_product/o ... Wiring.pdf |

Don't have tabs on my 220 not sure she needs them either. I don't tube much or pull anyone just like to cruise and hear some music and hit the sandbar. |
