Hello all, I searched and didn't really find much. I am looking at a leftover stock 2011 H220 with Volvo Penta DX/300hp. It has the SS F5 props on it. How is the hole shot on these? Top speed? I currently have a Crownline 180 BR with the 4.3L/Alpha which struggles pulling up slalom skiiers at times, especially when the boat is loaded up with 4-5 people. Also, is it possible to fit water skis in the rear lockers (the aft facing ones on the gunwales)? |

That combination would be awesome. When you say DX/300hp I assume you mean DP. Pulling skiers will be a non-issue, and yes, skis fit in the lockers. Published performance specs can be found on the FW web site and their boats tend to match them pretty closely, assuming the owner doesn't try to "improve" upon them with aftermarket junk. |

Yes, dual prop ![]() Good to know about those lockers + skis. Usually we have 3-4 water skis on the boat, so it'll be nice to get them stored out of the way. |

BIMINI QUITE FLIMSY) is 100% true I was wondering why the leg room was so bad I am contemplating moving the seat back some not sure if this has been done in the past. |

I'm 6'8" and thats the main reason we didn't get a 220, no place to move the drivers seat, it's already up against the uwrap seating. I ordered the 210 instead and the factory was able to mount the drivers seat a few inches further back for me. Carpet hole doesn't line up, but I have enough leg room. To the OP, if your pulling skier's and want a sterndrive boat a DP will be of huge help in hole shot, it may limit your top end a little, but I doubt that matters to you. |

Here is a 3 boat comparison of similar size 2011 boats. If the OP is still looking.... http://www.boatguideweb.com/specificati ... 4429,4300/ Some interesting things to note in the comparison. Such as deadrise, MSRP, weight, and cockpit space. They are all different from each other, yet the same size. The Monterey with the 350 Mag will be a mid 50's+ boat at WOT, The Chap will have less performance, but much roomier bow than the others. The H220 has some good storage capacity. |

I try to weigh down for wakeboarding as much as I can. My holeshot does not suffer signicantly. I attribute most of that to the Bravo 3 and the 26 props on it. |

Thanks for the feedback so far. I'm comparing 3 boats. 2011 (new) H220 with the Volvo 5.7L GiC and DP 2010 (new) Crownline 230LS with the 350Mag/Bravo III 2012 (special order) Chaparral 226 SSi with the Volvo 5.7L GiC and DP Four Winns has the most attractive price point and visual appeal. Chaparral has the best hole shot/performance and cockpit payout. Crownline is a bit larger and just overall very nice. It also has the captains call which I really want! Tough decisions ahead folks. I'm only 5'11" so the legroom thing is a non issue. 75% of the time I enjoy standing while I drive anyways. |

I think you'll find hole shot to be a non-issue as well, with a 5.7 and a dual prop (whether VP or Merc) in any of those boats. Go for the one that you feel has the best interior features, looks, and price point for your situation. I suggest paying particular attention to storage space, but that's me. Captain's Call is very enticing for new buyers, but you'll find many owners who didn't use it much after the first couple of outings. It will do nothing for performance in a small block powered boat. And in some locales, it's illegal. |
