How do I take these off?

The vertical bow cushions? I want to have the gray replaced on them. This is a picture when I got the boat back in June 2011 and they were already kinda brown. Today? Worse. I was put in touch last night with a local 'starving' upholstery guy.

Suprising who you run into in a biker bar on a Tuesday night sometimes.

I think they just lift straight up, and there are l-shaped spring clips attached that hold it to the fiberglass.
At least that was how our cushions and panels were attached on our 268 Vista.

Feel along the bottom edge of the cushions. There are likely a couple phillips head screws tucked up under there. Unscrew those and they should lift up.

Open your bow seat bottoms, reach up along the side and feel if there are bolts & nuts up along the side where those side cussions are located. I seem to remember looking for the same thing last year for some reason...

The funny thing is, you're 100% correct. He worked at a furniture factory for years. Business is slow and he's hungry. hahahaha

Okay so they slide up.. maybe with bolts on the bottom. I'll check that out after work. What is a good brand marine vinyl that is rated for at least 10 year outdoor use? I like that new texture stuff that looks like fake leather. I can slowly start replacing it all with that stuff.

I know Monterey uses Omnova "Nautalex" vinyl with Prefixx coating on their boats. Not sure if it is the style you are looking for. But it is extremly durable, UV tolerant and cleans up easily. I'm sure it is available in Florida, as Monterey's are made in Williston, about 1-1/2 hours north of you.

I did a quick search, seems to be found pretty easy. At 54" wide, I can probably redo the whole bow for under $200 in material and not much in labor costs. With that awesome new good stuff. As the months pass, just randomly get things redone elsewhere on the boat to match.

Just one quick piece of advice... I had to replace/repair vinyl on my last boat. If you can't do the whole boat at once, you'll want to do it in matching pairs or areas. If you're not buying all the vinyl at the same time, it varies slightly in whiteness (color) from order to order. It is VERY slight and completely unnoticeable if you do both of paired items together (both seats, for example). Whereas, if you do the port seat one year, and the starboard seat the next, they won't look quite the same.

Very good point!! If you re-order, you could get different lots or runs.

It's not the difference in vinyl from run to run they're all 100% the same, it's the vinyl on your boat for the last year has seen the effects of sun/wind/rain and has changed colors already.

They are not 100% the same I'm afraid. Even if the colour/ tint is of the PVC foil is 100% the same, the grain may not be. The grain is embossed onto the vinyl by rollers; the grain patterns on those rollers wear, sometimes these rollers get damaged and new ones give a slightly different, or more pronounced grain.

New rollers will have more pronounced grain compared to end of life rollers, but the color no. The effects of UV damage even in a short term of a few weeks exposure will make the color hue slightly different then new but the mixing of colors at the factory is a VERY precise operation constantly checked by lab techs for it's accuracy. It's not just a bunch of good ole boys throwing ingredients in a 5 gallon bucket scratching their heads and saying "well that looks right".

It is better to do the whole boat at once so everything is matching and aging at the same rate, but personally for me it just doesn't make monetary sense at this time to replace a whole interior when only 2 seat backs are looking old. I am redoing the whole bow so it does match using a more modern vinyl. Someone REALLY OCD might notice the difference between the bow area and cockpit area, but being the whole cockpit area is 8/10 condition it can wait and those really OCD people aboard my boat will have to deal with it for now.

Don't be so sure about the colour consistency; I still work in the Automotive industry, one of my customers makes door panels for a prestige European manufacturer. Rolls of foil are rejected at that customer for colour inconsistency from time to time, the foils are supplied by the top European manfacturer so I'd imagine they have pretty good blending control in place. Even so, some get through.
