Hello,
I am considering purchasing a 2001 210 horizon with a 315hp v8 duoprop. I noticed gelcoat crazing on the left side in back just before the hull steps up, below the water line. The crazing is in an area about 8inches x 8inches. I was wondering if the could be impact related? or caused by stress on the hull from the large engine. Also is this enough of a cause for concern to walk away? Any input would be appreciated as this is my first boat and would like to avoid as many problems as possible.
Thanks

First, Welcome!

Second, any chance you get a picture of it? Are you able to reach and feel the inside behind where the issues are?

I would run, not walk, away from that boat. The keel looks to be in tough shape and it looks like you have significant failure of the gelcoat in the second picture.

Run away... unless it's really cheap. Like $3500. Then buy it.

If they would treat that boat like that, I can imagine how bad the rest of it is, I bet they neglected it mechanically. The 'glass damage can be repaired, but the price has to be very low for it to be a reasonable buy. If you just want a ready to use boat keep looking....

Have to agree with the others. YUCK. IF you really like the boat, I'd have the seller pay for an inspection by your choice of marine surveyor. Your first boat should be fun, not full of worries.
