I had the same issue when I changed my anti siphon valves. The larger hex is part of the tank and stays in the tank. The square portion is the dip tube, and its threaded into the hex. Put a large box end wrench on the hex and a second open end wrench on the square. orientate the wrenches so you will be loosening the square portion, and have them spaced so you can get both hands on both wrenches at the same time to squeeze them together, to break it loose. Once you get the dip tube out, the broken piece will come out fairly easily with an easy out. The plastic part of the dip tube will pull off the square threaded end if you needed to put a little heat to it to get the broken piece out. (once its out of the tank! ![]() Good luck. |

Just so you know how the thing is attached, below is a picture from FourWinns website. From the Website also: 021-0011 ELBOW, ST 1/4 X 1/4 #116SC-80 The sending unit is an entirely separate creature. |

That's a simple brass plumbing elbow. Lowes/Home Depot/Ace Hardware should have something that will work. 1/4? NPT 90* elbow looks like. Bring the broken elbow and the new fitting to verify everything matches. No big deal. |

But why would you want to do something as foolish as that when you can pay 10x as much for the same part that comes in a bag labeled "Four Winns"? |

Oh, and you have to make sure it's ignition rated ![]() |

Four winns buys it as part of the fuel tank (that's what they told me). The dip tube is stainless and the anti siphon valve is aluminum. Fyi |

Thanks guys. My local Marina had one. It had the square box with threads and the plastic tube attached (pickup assembly) that was 24" long. Just cut to the depth of my tank. The issue was the pickup (square part)was corroded and frozen to the molded in insert that goes into the tank. Two oversized Crescent wrenches and two guy pulling and it broke free after soaking overnight in pb buster. http://www.moellermarine.com/oemdownloads/tech_support/ Link to where I found out how it was set in the tank. |
