So I happened across a screamin deal on a set of tabs (as in they are functional and I get everything for $100) but I am unsure exactly how to mount then to the stern of a 98' 200 Horizon given the ladder orientation. Would it be possible for someone that has a Horizon in the 1997-2000 range that has trim tabs installed to post a couple of pictures? Before ponying up a bill for these and driving 2 hours total I would like to know that they will work. Thanks.

Why would you put tabs on an H200?

Maybe everyone likes to sit on one side of the boat only, and he needs to level it out.

Overcome poor weight distribution and prop torque, get on plane faster (important to a lesser extent), make the boat more stable in windy situations, keep the boat on plane at lower speeds. But aside from all that - why not do it for such a small initial investment?

Why Not? So many advantages. I would if I found them at a good price.

It would seem to me that it would make more sense to simply balance your load and/or not overload the boat. If the wind affects it that much, the water is probably a bit more wild than a boat of that size should be in anyway.

Maybe I am off base, but I NEVER felt the need for them when I had my H200.

It's more of a WANT then a NEED. Do I NEED them on a boat this size - absolutely not. Do I WANT them, sure, why not. From everything I have seen there are definite advantages to having them and no disadvantages.

Plus, I NEED a 1/2 day project next time I go to the shore so the G/F can go relax at the beach rather then yelling at me to sit still for 8 hours.
