I have a 1994 H180 with a OMC Cobra 5.0L engine (not EFI). I need to purchase a new set of spark plug wire for it but I am a bit concerned going with the input of the 19 year old kid who works at the autoparts store I visited. They didn't have any instock but said what I was looking for was P/N: 18-8806-1 Is that correct? Is there a good source to crossreference this? |

Those wires are going for around $45 shipped for the Sierra ones. Expensive. Any 1970's era Ford 302 (what you have) spark plug kit will work. In fact, Ford only sells one wire set that fits every car with a non-efi 5.0L ever sold. For $45 you can hop on Summit Racing and get an awesome set of any color you want 8mm wires or you can hop on RockAuto and get a 7mm set (just like Sierra) for around $15 shipped. Many people on this forum go the Jegs/Summit racing route. Better wires, cheaper price. I have a 3.0L so I went the Rock Auto route, $8 shipped for a set of wires. Sierra was like $50. |

Get the marine wires if you can find them. The automotive wires are to short to go around the exhaust manifolds. Trust me I have the automotive wires they fit (barely) but they are a little snug. When I change them out I will go for the marine wires. |

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I picked up the 18-8806-1 wires from Sierra. More than I would have wanted to spend but I dont' want any issues trying to make these things reach under the headers. They look like an exact match to what I have currently (length and heat styles). |

Good to know I opted to just buy the volvo penta oem thanks to firecadet giving me a great price for them with the rotor can't wait to see how they fit once I get the time to put them on. |

The wires above fit no problem...now if I could just be able to change the spark plugs! Any suggestions there? |

When I built my engine I installed the plugs before the manifolds and believe the only way to change them is too remove the manifolds. ![]() |

Changed the spark plugs this weekend. I was able to do it using a 5/8" spark plug socket with a head end. After sliding the socket onto the spark plug I could use an open ended 3/4" wrench to "crack" the plug loose than use my fingers to spin the plug out. It wasn't easy for sure. |
