I was wondering what people do to make sure that they do not have a dead battery after anchoring up and having the tunes going for a while. I haven't had an issue, but after a bit I just shut them off because I would hate to turn the key and get nothing. Would like to hear some ideas from people. Thanks |

Most of us use dual batts with the stby isolated and off. I like the idea of a jump pack too; especially if it incorporates an air pump and other goodies. |

Install a dual battery setup. Some bigger boats have 3 batterys. Its easy to do, just ask if you have any questions. |

Did a little research on the dual battery system and it looks simple to do. I will definatly be putting one in. Thanks for the input. |

Given a battery in good health and your basic am/fm/cd sony stock unit how long could you play the radio before you risked not having enough juice to turn the motor? I usually only play the radio for short amounts of time in between runs as I'm too worried to get stuck someplace. But if its hours then I'm being too paranoid. |

If I sit for like an hour with just the radio playing will it drain it to much or do I have a fair amount of time. I have a brand new battery so not worried about the health of that. Our lake is small and we do a lot of short cruises to spots to hang out. We stay out for maybe an hour or two and then head back to the cabin to replenish our supplies. Sometimes the tunes are going and sometimes they are not. Depends on the mood. My biggest thing is that the space for me to install the second battery is limited. Just trying to get other peoples opinion on this one. |

Dual Battery set up, is cheap insurance. How hard is it be for you to get back if the battery is dead? Are you out there at night? is the frigid going? Thats what you need to ask yourself. |

Hour is no problem....but I usually forget to turn off blower and that's a problem for that long with stereo going too. I have installed a three stage charger and battery switch in prep for second bttry install. I am putting number two on port side and main is starboard....just be sure to use heavier gage wire for longer runs. |
