Hey All,

I have an interesting situation I could use some input with.

The last time I had my boat (2001 Horizon 180LE 4.3L VP) out I noticed that the power steering rack would "rumble". Steering still worked, it just made a noise.

I've checked the belt (good tension) and the fluid level (solid on "cold") and both seem fine. The strange thing is that it only seems to do it above 2500RPM's.

Any ideas?

I just had the same problem, it least I think so. It first I knew or it least thought it was the belt. Than it became worse, NOW I really thought it was the pump. There was noise & a vibration coming from it. It did turn out to be the belt, changed it and about 4 hour on the hour meter later. All is well!!!

Spary the belt it the pump with a little WD40. If the noise changes or goes away, than you will know.
