I am having trouble filling my tank all of a sudden. I was able to put 4 gallons in and the nozzle would click off like it was full. I have had it before where the nozzle would click off at about 3/4 and then I just let it settle and filled it the rest of the way. Any suggestions? I filled it 2 days ago and it filled just fine and then today this. I am tempted to run back down and to the marina and try again to see if it was just a fluke. Any input would be great. Thanks |

There was someone on here that have posted the problem and it turned out to be a clogged vent. His boat was not as new as yours, but it would be a good place to start. Found it: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9653&p=93062&hilit=fuel#p93062 |

Found it: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9653&p=93062&hilit=fuel#p93062 Thanks for the info. Checked out my fuel vent, disconnected and blew air through the tube. Everything seemed to flow fine. Also, blew air through the vent itself and had airflow. Also checked all tubes and they were not kinked and they seemed in good shape so. I will try to fill it again later and hopefully it works out. Thanks again. |

Maybe wherever you're filling up has a bad fuel nozzle? |

Tried everything but never fixed it. ![]() but...I would check to see if your fuel tank has a check valve. From what I've seen, these are somewhat similar to the mechanism on the inside of a toilet, however usually mounted "sideways". There is usually a spring or some sort of device to keep the valve closed, while still being "soft" enough to let fluid flow in. Sometimes these can get gummed up and stuck in a partially open position. I hate to say it, but i really don't know what the current design is for boat fuel tanks though, but I would assume there is some sort of safety for roll-over or fire prevention. It's also been my experience that some types of fuel nozzles are becoming more and more sensitive to back pressure, especially newer designs. |

I ran to town and filled up two 5 gallon cans and brought them back. It filled just fine. Whatever the issue is, it is with the nozzle. Worked fine the other day for me, but was touchy another time so. All I know is I have fuel and am ready to go so all is good. Thanks for the input. |

Not sure if this was your issue was,but the back flow valves on the pumps are set to shut off with resistance (added pressure when full) changing the angle of the pump while filling can create theis back pressure, if you have completely filled your tank take note of the angle of the pump and always use the same pump angle even if you have to move closer to the pump. I have had fuel inlets that will not fill with a 5 degree angle change. |

On mine, you have to have the nozzle all the way in so the rubber splash guard is touching around the fuel filler. If not, it keeps popping off like full. I have to work it in a bit sometimes depending on the nozzle. |
