not the best pictures in the world, but here is my latest project nice packing nice and shiny lots of parts access holes, already cut there from the factory installed cant forget speakers ill get better pictures from the lake this weekend

Looks good. I hope you used backing plates? I installed a radar arch on my boat. I had to add some glass on the inside to stop it from shaking. The backing plates were not big enough.

Hopefully getting out of the garage is a non-issue Having installed a tower on my last boat myself, I can list a few things you should watch out for: 1) hopefully the tower can fold down to the level of the windshield... this helps a lot when trying to get into a garage 2) be mindful of what will happen when you tie off to other boats in a cove... you want the mounts to easily clear the rub rail 3) you also want any tower mounted wakeboard racks not to extend outwards too much and get in a fight with another boat you are tying up with... 4) don't over tighten those bolts... when you hear the first faintness of fiberglass movement, stop. also make sure and use outside rubber gaskets I also met someone at the marina once that had a tower installed with no backing plates! this is a no no... eww... cracking fiberglass eventually... at the least they need to be 3"x3"...

I didn't think you did use backing plates, from your pics, I don't see any. I would install some, in time, you are going to have stress fractures. You will find out when you hit a big wave, as I did. On the install, I would also use slip nuts or some people call them aircraft nuts. They can not back off if they come loose.

Big problem, my boat is stuck in the garage....... Jk the tower folds down to the windshield and makes it in and out no problem. For backing plates I took 1/2 fiberglassed wrapped plywood and attached it to the inside of the hull, followed by 1/4 aluminum strips then the nuts

I have the same (almost) tower on my '94 180. I have a different set of speakers and the PO put forward and rear facing HID lights. Those have become handy when getting back to the dock a bit late at night.

Use West System epoxy, and run a piece of glass about 4 to 6"wide around the wood. Come off the wood 2 to 3" and lay the other part on the glass wall. I would use 2 layers and the coat the wood too. This will stiffen the side walls and seal the wood at the same time. Remember too, that wood is not flush up the the wall, you can see the gaps.

I just noticed you wiring. You want to come off the side of your boat and have a drip loop, so water can not get in. It will help seal it and to give it a finished look, use a clam vent. http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?pat ... 3&id=46663 Is there weep hole at the base of each arm to let water out?
