My motor will not even attempt to turn over When I turn the ignition key ,it sounds like the fuel pump is working but the motor does not even attempt to turn over Any ideas |

Did you check the battery? Is the safety lanyard off the kill switch? Neutral? |

Did it die and will not restart or were you starting it for the first time that day? How was the engine running the last time you went out? Have you done any recent work on it? Also, what year is your boat? Which model engine? Fuel injected? Etc. Tell us all that you can. The last time I had a no-start where the engine would not turn over, one of the wires connected to the back of the kill switch had fallen off after hitting a wave. |

Check the ignition fuse in the fuse panel, if this is blown or corroded you will have no crank and no power to gauges either. Happened to me this spring (fuse was oxidized from years of salt air exposure). It really could be anything in the engine cranking circuit. Battery Key switch Ignition fuse assist solenoid starter solenoid starter itself kill switch Make sure the shift control is in NEUTRAL, if you shut off the engine in gear and did not shift back to NEUTRAL it will not crank, because of the safety switch in the shift control. |
