Inside the starboard storage compartment behind the driver's seat.

Good call EvilZ!
What about the extra battery? I'm thinking there is room right next to the other one.

You'll likely want to put it on the other side of the boat for weight distibution, otherwise you'll find you boat listing. Perhaps not as badly on the FS hull, but still try to keep it evened out.

If your current battery is on the starboard side, look to put the second battery in the same place on the port side. Bummer about having to have longer cable runs, but that's the deal.....

I'll try to get some pics for you today as I'll be back there replacing my bilge pump.

Good call on adding a second battery, by the way! Oh, and I'm using the Perko switch.

yeah i believe you are right about putting the other batt on the opposite side. i was in there looking around this morning and thought it would be better that way also.

i think i'm gonna install the blue seas switch with the ACR.

how do you figure out what cables are actually for starting and what are for house? i have one battery right now with 4 cables hooked to it. 2 smaller gauge wire and two larger gauge wire. are the smaller ones for house? i have the blue seas add a battery with acr but want to make sure i'm getting my head wrapped around this and a good plan before starting the project.
thanks!

In the funship, wouldn't the fresh water tank counterbalance the two batteries, or is it not enough weight?

I'm going to add a second battery to mine, as well. Sounds like the Perko switch is the preferred one here.

On my FS, the water tank and battery #1 are mounted starboard. Another reason to mount #2 battery to port.

I assume that is the default config, but not sure since I ordered mine with the second battery installed.
