We tube, wakeboard, etc. without needing anymore. Hole shot is fine, but not amazing. Haven't tried pulling a slalom skiier yet, but expect it'd be plenty to get the job done. Tops out around mid-40mph, which also meets our needs. I'd expect it to handle your 224 even better. You should be fine. However, if you want something really "meaty," then go with the 5.7. |

Usually more power = better fuel consumption when putting around too. If you can, get a GXi engine instead of a Gi. The difference between a Gi and GXi? The GXi has roller cam/lifters, the Gi has standard hydraulic lifters. Don't stress over it though. No difference in reliability. |
