Looks like an L bench then. I like the contrasting stitching on the dash and accent panels. The stainless ring cupholders make the sink look no so jail-ish. However no side port holes still makes the cuddly seem bland, same to be said with the metal door. I love the extra sky lights though. I still like my design better any day.

Now I really hate it. Biggest waste of space ever in a design. Other boats in it's class have things like...

counters, enclosed heads, showers, tables, seating for 4 inside, windows, etc. It's design is almost identical to my buddies old Velocity speed boat from the 80's

any pictures yet of the engine exposed? I'd like to see how much access there is for working on the engine

You will have to check the walk thru video by Frenchy earlier in this thread (page 2) to see the engine access. About 2:35 into the video. It's pretty tight IMO.

Very very similar layout. Bench seat, two swivel, sun deck, small cabin with seats on the side.

Typical wishy-washy review by Boattest of the S235 Here

What a tease! When I was reading the part about the trailer it says " The framing is 11-gauge aluminum coated with durable polyurethane paint to match the gel coat color of the boat's hull". The picture says " boxed steel" I guess the aluminum trailer part was a misprint. Bummer!

Found these at a dealers website. Little tight, but no as bad as I thought it would be. Hopefully the seat is removable to gain access to the lower front of the engine.

Carpet in the engine compartment is old school, and is not really a good idea, same with carpet in the storage lockers under the seats.

I checked out the S235 at the GR show yesterday. It did not look much better in person than in pictures. The cabin was roomy enough for this size boat. Lot's of cheap looking plastic used on this boat in the gunwales and dash area's. The large sunpad takes up way too much cockpit space IMO. Here is the price from the show.

Same as the new Horizon, nice shape, but no engine access. I expect things to get better not worse in new designs. That is not progress. Based on the look of it, you could barely reach the engine drains on the side of the block to drain the water out. What fun would it be to change the crank mounted Volvo impeller, or access anything on the rear of the engine. I'd love to hear the string of French curse words coming out of Frenchy if we gave him a 9/16ths socket and an 18" 1/2 drive ratchet and asked him how fast he could change the starter. You wouldn't see him for days, and he would not be too com--for-table......
