I have a 1998 245 Sundowner with 5.7 GSI/SX 280 HP. I'm looking to upgrade my alternator from the original 65 amp to something bigger like 120 amp. Has anyone done this or found a high output
alternator for this engine. Volvo tells me they don't make a high output alternator for that engine.
I'm leary about aftermarket stuff. Any input would be greatly appreciated...Thanks.

You might check with Arco Marine they sella wide variety of marine alternators...
I'd call them and tell them what you want to do and see if have a unit that will do what you want.
