Looking for the front windshield panels for a 1988 205 sundowner, and what other models might be the same |

Welcome! Always happy to see another SD owner join up. Are you talking about the actual glass for the windshield, or those little "wing" windows on the side? Either one is going to be hard to find. Your best bet is to go to an auto glass shop and see if the can make one. Oh, tell us where ya boat at, also lets see some pics of your boat! |

These things can be hard to find. I had to replace a few pieces a number of years ago and I was able to get them from the original supplier (Water Bonnet in Florida). I think they got bought out by Taylor Made though. The thing that can make it difficult is this: is the glass curved (bent glass) or flat? On my '88 Horizon the front panels on each side are slightly bent (they look flat when they are not installed but they flex slightly to fit the frame). If yours are like that, (lay a straightedge across the lower part of the frame) you need to find a glass shop that can make it in tempered glass. Plain straight glass would be easier. You use plexiglass or lexan but its not as rigid as glass and the frame will tend to flex. |
