Those courtesy lights about the cup holders by the aft facing seats that don't work. The bulbs are good but I have no power to the sockets. I also have no idea what switch controls them...one of the two accessory switches? Thank you!

1987 195 SD BTW

Is there a switch labeled "Cockpit Lights"? I think that is what controls mine.

No sir. I've got 4 switches. "Blower" "Pump" and then two accessory switches. Still haven't found out what those accessory switches are for though. My fishfinder is hardwired, the 12v outlet/plug works regardless of the position of those switches.

All fuses are good, everything else works. I would follow the wires but they are behind the panel and can't squeeze my head down there to see where they go. I can reach in and grab them but, again, if I can't see where they go, not much I can do.

I removed the light "assembly". Got no power to that either. There is one wire going to light "frame" and one going to back of light socket.
It isn't a huge deal that these work but since they are there I want them to work correctly.

You are a gentlemen and a scholar! I do appreciate it.

And maybe for someone else ( :) ), is there a reason why my incandescent anchor/stern light works but my brand new LED one doesn't?

Thanks again!

Good to go. Everything behind those switches is solid and clean. Not sure what those accessory switches are for...I think they are empty right now. I might utilize them at a later date. I looked at a wiring diagram but not sure if it was correct because it had some things that I don't have on there like additional cabin lighting. Also, the diagram said "Sportboat" '87-something. I think last I checked, this boat is classified as a "cuddy". Either way. I might just rewire some lights back there and run it to one of those accessory switches; good chance to run LED lights and add additional lighting!

Now I just can't figure out why my brand new LED stern light won't work but the old incandescent one will....Bet it is the connections on the base of the LED? I did shake things around behind that switch too, and the base of the light "socket" to see if I just so happened to knock a wire loose while switching lights

Well, I asked my buddy with the same boat as you. He didn't know either, he has never had his boat out at night, so he has never even flipped the switches, lol. We will be out on the water this weekend, I'll have a look-see at his setup and report back to ya.

Stern light is likely not working due to reversed polarity. Swap the wires feeding the socket mounted to the boat and you'll be good to go.
If you can't locate the switch for the cockpit lights, I'd say the accessory switch is a perfect place to put it. Use the other one for the captains choice through-hull exhaust you'll be installing ;)

Thank you sir, I appreciate it. That is funny your bud didn't know. My bro-in-law has a 23' CC we take offshore and I asked him where the switch for the front spreader lights were that were on the T-Top....he had no idea  .

I really appreciate it. Ill keep hunting around...if I find something Ill report. I just like to have everything working. Who knows if Ill ever use them

Cpt's choice exhaust you say? You can activate an actuator that goes from hub exhaust to thru-hull? Maybe if I had a big block...not sure how a 262ci V6 would sound unless I put a good cam in it :)

for starters you need to use a multi meter and see if power is getting to the switches. Then we can proceed. My boat had 2 neutral acc switches.

My "courtesy" labeled switch was one duller lower lumen light in the cockpit in the rear.

Anchor only powers the stern light
nav - bow and stern lights
cockpit - lights all the cockpit
radio - powers the rocket launchers
blower - a hot female climbs out of the ski locker and gets on her knees
Bilge - wakes up 3 dwarfs with buckets and they toss water out of the hull

You can always just gold school like i did as a kid and unscrew the head off of a AA mag light and hold it in your right hand while the left is on the tiller. Or do as we do going to the Duck blinds. Run in stealth mode, full camp, black face paint, guns, int he black dead of night and navigate via the moon and a hand held chart plotter..

You were absolutely right. I removed the screw that's in the side of the pole and put the light in backwards...let there be light!
