It's just on until the pressure builds (10-20 seconds) but it's annoying!

10-20 seconds for oil pressure to build? Something is wrong there.

Well, the dream is over. You should be at least 40psi at idle within .5 seconds of startup.

That's why you always have a used boat professionally surveyed by a qualified mechanic. I really hope for your sake it's a bad sensor or gauge, not a blown engine.

Um, yeah....should have instant oil pressure at startup. Steam engines build up pressure, not modern gas engines. Hopefully like ric said, its just a bad sending unit or gauge. Any lifter chatter when starting?

LOL.
The engine is fine. The gauge shows pressure almost instantly and the dummy light goes out about as quick but thats buzzer last a little longer. Maybe it's 5 seconds or so, never timed it just took a guess. Not to mention, it beeps when the key is first turned on too. Friggen' stupid!

Anyway, it's annoying and I don't want to hear it at all. Anyone ever disconnect it?

Stupid ??? The two beeps at start up are a warning to anyone in the water that the engine is about to start .
Guess you could disconnect it, and chop up someone behind the boat...........

Ah, well that's a better description! If your like me and always checking the gauges, then yeah I can see it being annoying. But the first time it sounds for real, you'll be glad its there, just sayin. I would guess it isn't that hard to disconnect, but I don't have one and I don't know if it is tied into other systems. I'll let the guys with more experience there chime in on that.

Anyways, lets see some more pics of this SD! How big is the cuddy? Does it have the enclosed head, or a porta-john under the cushion? Sink? Fridge?

If the props start turning when you turn the key, that's a whole other problem! :P
