I have a 1998 245 Sundowner with 5.7 GSI/SX 280 HP. I'm looking to upgrade my alternator from the original 65 amp to something bigger like 120 amp. Has anyone done this or found a high output alternator for this engine. Volvo tells me they don't make a high output alternator for that engine. I'm leary about aftermarket stuff. Any input would be greatly appreciated...Thanks. |

You might check with Arco Marine they sella wide variety of marine alternators... I'd call them and tell them what you want to do and see if have a unit that will do what you want. |
