Can anyone give me a quick run around on how to take the shroud off the dashboard of a '93's style Sundowner?

I want to refinish it but would like to know what I am getting myself into before I start.

Planning on refinishing shroud, dash face, and gauges.

Any info would be a great help,

post a pic. if it is the same as mine.. then you remove the 15 or so screws holding the gauge face plate off. You will have a couple master harness connecttors for the harness to the gauges and switches. Some of your accessory wires may need disconnect from the switches. Set gauges to the safe location. Next you will need to lay under your dash. Their will be either 4or 6 1/4 -3/8 nuts with washers that are attached to studs int he sun shield.. you will use a ratchet to remove the nuts. Now cut the calc seam seal around the sun shield. I used a flex razor (the extender kind you can snap the ends off of so that it was 1" or so long) and get it under the sun shield good to cut the seam seal.. then i used some plastic car interior panel shim poppers to get it loose. and it will lift right out. KEEP IN MIND that this is not fiberglass it is a molded closed cell foam so it will dent and be damaged if you man handle it. It is hard.. I used automotive primer after a good sanding and cleaning on mine..followes with 2 coats of gray for a solid rich coveragem, and topped it off with something like 5 or maybe 6 coats of clear. wet sand 500-1500 to smooth as glass and polish and wax.
