With the help of my 10 year old son insisting I click the bid button repeatedly I find myself the proud new owner of a 1995 Sundowner 245, for the whopping sum of $454.00!!

Had to travel from Clearwater to Miami to pick it up, at which time the borrowed trailer blew out a rear wheel which couldnt be changed because the wheel studs were spinning in the hub, but thats another story. lol.

Obviously a boat needs a trailer, (since I can't borrow my friends forever) so I was able to locate a 2000 Four Winns trailer that was built for a Vista 258. Four Winns says it won't need any mods for the Sundowner to sit on it properly and I was able to secure the trailer for less than the boat costs!! A trip to West Palm Beach and $400 and our new to us Sundowner has a Four Winns trailer to haul it around on. The trailer brakes are seized but its a very solid trailer and made the trip back to Clearwater on two of the four wheels with no issues.

The boat really doesnt need much more than some good detailing in the cosmetic department. The engine cover needs to be reupholstered and a small part on one of the side panels but really not much in the way of parts needing to be purchased. It even has the fresh water system with the frige and sink and shower!!

Mechanically not sure yet. The engine isnt locked up but we're still cleaning before I dive into the mechanics. I own an automotive shop so I'm not really worried about that part of this endeavor.

With just $854 invested so far its gonna be interesting to see how nice of a vessel we can end up with!! I'll update the post as we make some headway. Wish us luck!

No. I used to own two R33s, a GT-R and a GTS-T. I sold them when the economy dumped in 08 but I've kept the screen name. Maybe it's time for a new one. Lol.

Lol. The 32s and 34s were just too small for me. Nobody seemed to be able to tell from the view of the tail lights though. Lol. Really miss those cars.

Was that a Copart boat or through another auction? Pretty sure it was on copart a few months ago.

It was Copart. Also advertised on Craigslist in Savannah, I assume where the finance company is located. I found the listing a couple days ago. Says it was a repo and that they were able to get it to start and run but the batteries are no good. Havent put power to it yet but I did have it in the water to swap trailers:

Sure looks good for $450 right!!
