On the '04 225 I just purchased, there is not a u bolt in the anchor locker for me to tie the anchor rode off to like there was on my Sea Ray. What do I secure my anchor rode to?

You mean the hole on the left hand side in the fiberglass? Your supposed to tie your rode off to that?

Yes! The end of the anchor line needs to be secured to the boat, basically to stop you losing it all. A bit like attaching the end of a fishing line to a multiplier reel; you never want to be using all that line, it's just a security feature. If you're anchored up the line should attached to a cleat, not least of which to stop the line abrading your gel coat, but which cleat you use is depending on the wind/ currerent situation. If your line goes straight from the anchor locker over the gel basically down from the point of attachment, it's not long enough!

On previous model years, the attachment point was similar but at the bottom of the anchor locker; at least now, it's possible to see the knot before potentially losing all the anchor line!
