Hi folks!

Just purchased a 1988 235 Sundowner about a month ago! We had it out twice before the end of the season here in NC. Everything went very well and Wifey was/is happy! :D We are new to boat ownership, although I have been around and on boats my whole life and Wifey has boating expierence from her childhood.

It's finally turned cold here, I've had halogen lights in the engine bay for the last three nights to prevent freezing. The temperature has been hovering right around the freezing mark. I plan on winterizing on Saturday as the temps will be in the 50's. This will be my first time putting a boat up for the winter so I am a little anxious and worried at the moment. I have so much information it's going to be an effort to keep it all straight. Luckily my brother-in-law has done some winterizing before. 8) So we'll be hard at it Saturday and on into Sunday if that's what it takes! Wish us luck!

Well, I just want to introduce ourselves, we are so looking forward to next season and the hi's and lo's that go with our 20 year old beauty!

I'll get some pics up as soon as I can!

32 degress is no cause for alarm. The engine will not freeze until temps are well below that for an extended period. Halogen lights in the bilge worries me.

Winterizing a 235 should take no more than an hour. If you plan on 1 to 2 days, you will have plenty of time to enjoy some beers after the work is done.

I was most worried about the temps, I'll eliminate the halogen light ASAP!

Thanks guys!
