When double the price is 20 bucks... and you can actually see a CO3 reading... I'd say go for it! Seeing that, I'm thinking of ripping out the factoryones that suck and going that LCD route.

IF only they made them a bit smaller in size... I wonder how bulky they are.

Not much larger than the factory ones, just horizontal and not verticle. I have one of the LCD ones here, I'll try and get a pic of it next to my hand for a size comparison...

I'm pretty proactive when it comes to replacing parts earlier than later, but I never thought about sending in the alarms after only two years.

FWIW, Menards has a Kidde CO with a digital display, $25 bucks. We're going to go with two of those in place of the factory units.
