Hello fellow boaters. I recently purchased a 1988 Four Winns Liberator 201. I am currently in the process of going over the boat getting it back to 100%. The main thing I need for the boat are the cuddy doors and the hatch ( 3 piece set). I can no longer get anything from Four Winns. I have not had any luck with salvage yards either. does anyone know where I can get a set or at least the demensions so i can build a new set. I know the originals were Plexiglas or acrylic. I know that the doors will work off of a1988-1993 Liberator 201 or a 1988-1993 Sundowner 205. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thank You.

I'm not sure if the doors are the same as a 205 sundowner on a 235 sundowner. The top part (hatch that closes on top of the doors) Is what I really need. The 205 sundowner and the 201 liberator had a different design in 88 than the rest of the larger boats of the same makes. Newer models 89 and up might however be the same. Thank you for the reply though. I will do some more research and se if the doors are at least the same.

That's kind of what I was thinking as well, they may not be the same. If it turns out that they are or even if you just want to know the sizes on mine just let me know. The offer stands, I'd be glad to measure and photograph them for you.

Ironwill, I bought my Sundowner 205 late last year and didn't know much about FourWinns boats or Cobra outdrives and things like that and now wish I would have done more research prior to my purchase. With that being said, it is our first boat and it is in really great shape and aside from some small things I'm pretty happy with it. Now my boat has the smoked acrylic swinging doors that lead to the cuddy but the "hatch" door that comes down to cover those doors is "wooden". Now who ever made this "wooden" door did a fantastic job because it looks factory and I thought it was factory until I started looking through the sales literature from when the boat was new and I found that the "hatch" door is actually supposed to match the others. At current my boat is still covered for winter storage but as soon as I can I'll get pix and measurements and post them for you if you think you'll be interested. But you may have to remind me, sometimes I forget the small things...lol

Murfdog.

I will try to remind you . . . if i can remember too. I have thought about making custom doors but I would really like a set of originals. Most salvage yards just have a big pile of doors that you have to search through and measure. Big pain. I appreciate all the help. Thank you!

No problem, btw if you click on the pic of my boat it should take you to another pic and those two pix will give you an idea of what my door looks like.

Did you ever get what you were after? I have an 89 205 sundowner, and would be happy to measure and photograph for you.

I found a sundowner at a local marina. I took a bunch of measurements from it. I have since decided to build my own doors out of wood. I will try to post some pics if I ever get them done. Thanks for keeping in touch.

My 1991 Four Winns Sundowner 255 has the most backwards set up for the companion way door.

Its the black acrylic stuff and the doors do not shut 'tight'. As a matter of fact, there is about 3/4" that the doors flop around and as far as I can tell, FW designed it that way.

The acrylic top to the companion way slams down when you fold it back, and since its flush with the windshield, theres no way around it. Either let it slam, or get your fingers pinched HARD (dont ask me how I know that)....lol.
