I was wondering when the build a boat do they run all the wires the same to cover all the options and just leave out what they don't use. Such as docking lights or transom radio controls.

Not all builders do. Four Winns does run wires and such for many of their Vista's. For example, our
268 did not have a windlass, but the wiring and switches were there.

You will just need to check to verify if you have the wiring on your boat.

As well as the wiring, my 2004 Sundowner even had a switch for the docking lights ( no docking lights), obviously they use a standard fitted out dash for each boat model, whether the equipment is there or not.

All the 12V options will be accomodated somewhere but the transom remote will not be. It is specific wire that comes with the remote.
