im wanting to install a full length teak swim platform on the rear of my 88 160 freedom. should i through bolt it with backing plates and some good ole 5200 or just run lag bolts with 5200?

I'm not sure about you but better safe then sorry. Stainless backing plates, stainless bolts, nuts, washers, and 5200. Heck, I even did that when mounting my Magma grill. You could hang off it.
